Cuenca Cemetery

Today we visited the local cemetery. We saw graves, crypts, and family mausoleums of the very poor to the richest residents of Cuenca.

It's been a while.

It's been almost a month since my last post. Truth is, we have been here nearly a year and a half and have cycled through all of the holidays. Never fear! We have several trips planned for the near future. Peru, Machu Picchu, in May; Atlanta, GA at the end of June; the entire month of July will be spent vacationing in Boston with several side trips around New England; and a week on St. Simons Island in August. Until then, here are some recent random pics for you to enjoy.

We recently lost our kitty, Tutti. She died at the age of 16. She loved her daddy Mike.

Mike joined the Cuenca International Chorale. Here are two pictures from last weeks performance. There he is on the front row. Songs were performed in English, Spanish, and German.

Scott, Curt, and me in the audience.

During the recent 12 de Abril celebration several old photos of Cuenca were on display along the Tomebamba River. The photo below was the "first" photo taken of Cuenca. It is now Parque Calderon, in El Centro. Two blocks from our apartment.

Here is another later photograph.

Finally, I bought another cap. I've been looking for over a year. Found one I liked at a booth during the 12 de Abril celebration.

Stay tuned. We're always up to something!
